| The Central and South American professional audio markets are rapidly expanding and Turbosound is proud to announce new distribution partners to serve these markets.
In Mexico, Juarez-based Vari International is a long-established audio/visual specialist, combining sales with sound contracting, design, installation and technical support services.
The partnership was announced on the opening day of the Sound Check Xpo Show March 09.
Managing director Simon Blackwood and R&D Director Dominic Harter were on hand to announce the partnership to the Mexican market.
Blackwood commented: “We’ve just started to ship the new TCS contractor range that integrates design elements from the hugely successful Flex Line Array product line, so it’s vital that we work with distribution partners that can immediately capitalize on our investment – we believe that by partnering with Vari, we can deliver the customer experience our brand values demand.
“We recognise the potential of the Mexican market and that’s reflected in having Dom here at the start of the relationship so he can understand first hand what the market expectations are and factor that back into our future development plans.
“Our priority is our clients, with whom we strive to build long-term relationships, based on the high quality of our service and the complete confidence in both us and the products we sell,” says Vari’s Hugo A. Patiño Valdez (pictured with Simon Blackwood), “and Turbosound represents these values.”
Further changes were also announced at the show for Chile and Peru.
In Chile, Audiomusica SA, one of the country’s leading audio suppliers now distributes Turbosound exclusively.
Audiomusica has a long history in Pro Audio, indeed as Blackwood commented: “I’ve known Armando since the early ’90’s and believe that his focus on customer care and his approach to the market will serve us well with our current product line and the exciting new products we’ll be showing at the Frankfurt Messe in April.”
Meanwhile, the Peruvian capital Lima is home to Sonotec.
“Central and South America have become an increasingly important market for us,” says Blackwood. “Sonotec is particularly interesting, not only because they have just taken delivery of the largest single shipment of the classic TXD-252 ‘rock pig’ we’ve ever made, but because their brand portfolio ideally compliments our product lines.
Finally, Medellin-based Codiscos SA, a company whose name is well recognised for its long participation in the music industry, is set to increase Turbosound’s penetration in Columbia.
Codiscos’s Specialty Audio Division already has a number of well known pro audio brands to its name and, with the addition of Turbosound’s range of products, it has further reinforced its position as a major players in the region.
“We see great potential for Turbosound in our market,” says Codiscos’s Sebastian Ochoa. “Turbosound has a very large range of products which are perfect for the commercial and sound reinforcement projects that are in progress in Columbia.
“At the moment, the local market is dominated by low cost products. Our objective with the Specialty Audio Division is to build up a reliable and professional business that assists in product selection, design and installation. The market is very sensitive to high prices, so we want to be able to offer good quality products at competitive prices. Turbosound fulfills both these criteria.”
Blackwood concludes: “The quality of both live and installed sound has risen dramatically in recent years, with the resulting parallel rise in audience expectations. People want the best and, by working with our distribution partners, we can provide that - the best brand, products, advice and technical support right where they are needed.”
