Turbosound technology translates into sound contracting speakers at NAMM

TCS

Turbosound will introduce a complete new range of highly innovative TCS series sound contracting products offering great sound quality and contractor-friendly features at the 2009 NAMM show at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA from January 15 -18, 2009.

Offering a variety of installed products ranging from a large-format double 18" subwoofer and two single 15" arrayable subs, through 12" and 15" active/passive two-ways to an ultra-compact 6.5" passive model, Turbosound has also developed a high power three-way switchable bi-amp / tri-amp loudspeaker to provide contractors with a full complement of solutions.

"We are really excited at the prospect of being able to present some highly advanced acoustics technology in a new range of contractor-friendly loudspeaker products at NAMM," says Turbosound USA distributor sales manager Brad Stephens. "Directly benefiting from the development work that led to the launch of the hugely popular Flex Array line array/virtual point source speaker system, our new TCS series Dendritic waveguides deliver improved arrayability together with true Turbosound voicing."

New TCS series options abound, including IP54 weather-resistance and a choice of custom colors above and beyond the standard black or white textured paint. In addition, the 12" and 15" based products can be ordered with a choice of factory-supplied horn dispersion patterns: 90°h x 60°v, 60°h x 40°v, and 90°h x 40°v, contributing to the range’s considerable versatility. The high frequency horns are conveniently rotatable to further increase their application to many types of fixed installation.

Digitally self-powered options are also available with full network capability to allow the creation of highly controllable loudspeaker networks easily adaptable to multiple zones and performance requirements. The lightweight Class D amplifiers feature 96kHz DSP for pristine sound quality, together with fault logging to ensure consistent and reliable operation.

Two-way and three-way mid/high TCS cabinets in the range feature a double-trapezoidal shape that results in tighter, neater-looking flown clusters, including two single 15" bass cabinets configured to fly tidily and conveniently with either 12" or 15" based mid/highs. Multiple integral rigging points are provided on each cabinet to allow for a wide range of rigging possibilities.

"Every detail of our speaker design is based on experience and is application-specific; something that has kept our touring customers so loyal for the last 25 years," explains Turbosound's Development Director, Dominic Harter. "Our new TCS range shares many of the same principles but is tailored for the contracting market. The cabinets' unique double trapezoidal shape enables simple arraying and minimal use of real estate when installing, and the Dendritic horns offer class-leading pattern control in both the horizontal and the vertical - whereas traditional designs are limited to good control in only one plane at this price point. Leading with our own unique voicing and internal investment in EASE-qualified personnel we look forward to a strong future in professional contracting."

Turbosound will be displaying the new TCS series loudspeakers as well as the highly acclaimed Flex Array concert touring series, alongside the elegantly styled IMPACT fixed installation products in Booth #6474 each day.
