Taking place on the 20 February 2008, the Brit Awards will - as ever - be a high point of the annual British music industry calendar. And with nominees in eight of the 12 categories being Turbosound users, it seems that the sound quality of these top artists' live shows is being recognised as much as the quality of their music.
The nominees were announced on 14th January at London's legendary Roundhouse and, of those with a Turbosound pedigree, during 2007 a significant number used both Aspect® - Turbosound's state-of-the-art hi-fi quality point source system - and the company's TFM-450 wedges.
Turbosound users include Mika (nominated in the British Album, British Single and British Breakthrough Act categories), Jamie T (British Male Solo Artist), Muse (British Live Act), Kanye West and Rufus Wainwright (International Male Solo Artist), and Kings of Leon (nominated for both International Band and International Album).
Crooner Michael Buble's use of TFM-450 wedges proved that, for artists who prefer to use wedge monitors, hi-fi sound on stage is just as important as what the audience is hearing.
"The Brit Award nominations have been a remarkable success story for us," says Turbosound Director of Product Development, Dominic Harter. "If you include the festival circuit, we have users in every single category except British Female and Outstanding Achievement. We hope we will be celebrating more come 20th February!"
